FYI:  A "Youth Edition" or "Junior" musical indicates that scenes from the full-length musical will be performed.  High schools typically put on full-length musicals.  Most elementary and middle schools put on "Junior" or "Youth Edition" musicals due to the age of the performers.

About the Show

Set on L.A.'s famous Sunset Strip in 1987, Rock of Ages tells the story of Drew, a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit and Sherrie, just a small-town girl, living in a lonely world. Both Drew and Sherrie traveled to L.A. to chase their dreams of making it big in the business and of hopefully falling in love.

This classic love story is set against the troubles at the Dupree Room, a “legendary temple of rock 'n' roll excellence.” Under threat by The Man, aka- developers, of being torn down and replaced with a strip mall (gasp!), the threats of closure bring legendary rock star Stacee Jaxx to town.  This could be Drew's opportunity to chase his dream and rock out with the best in the business.

Trouble brews as Drew abandons Sherrie for his dream of stardom. rock 'n' roll bad boy Stacee lures Sherrie away and the Dupree Room is surrendered to developers. Can Drew and Sherrie rescue their love? And can the Dupree Room be saved before it's too late?
